Is there a way to implement syntax highlighting into a program?

I've wanted to implement a basic syntax highlighter into my program. I tried Editors Toolbox plugin and although it seems possible to implement such feature using it, it looks hard and in the end, I think its gonna be clunky. So is there any (proper) way to do interactive syntax highlighting? or integrating existing syntax highlighting engines written in javascript into a vn program?

Don't know id there is a better alternative but I have used Notepad2 executed inside a Rectangle Object to get that feature.
The software is portable and runs very well inside any VisualNEO Win publication. You can hide the software menu and use VisualNEO Win Action Commands to send keystrokes or execute menu options.
Hope it helps.
