Lite Forum first version published

Hi everyone!

I’m happy to share something new that I’ve been working on outside of VisualNEO, but which can be very useful for many of your VisualNEO Web and VisualNEO Win applications.

Introducing Lite Forum

Lite Forum is a fast, lightweight, self-hosted forum system written in PHP that installs in just a couple of minutes. It works with SQLite or MySQL, supports attachments, email queue, multilingual interface, private forums, dark mode, and more, all in a very clean and minimal codebase.

Official website (demo + documentation):

I originally built Lite Forum because I needed a simple way to create support communities for my own software products. Every existing forum platform felt too heavy or too complex, so I created one that focuses only on what really matters.

Why Lite Forum is useful for VisualNEO users

If you build apps with VisualNEO (Win or Web), there are several real-world use cases where Lite Forum fits perfectly:

  • Support forum for your users
Provide a private or public space for questions, updates, and discussions.

  • Community for your customers or students
Ideal for educational projects, training apps, niche communities, etc.

  • Integrated backend for your apps
Since it runs on SQLite or MySQL, you can easily connect your VisualNEO Web apps and use it as a discussion or feedback module.

  • Self-hosted and extremely easy to deploy
Just upload the files and run the installer — no special server setup required.

Lite Forum is now on Indie Hackers

I’ve just posted Lite Forum on Indie Hackers, and it would really help with visibility if you could give it a like or leave a comment. Feedback from fellow makers is extremely valuable at this early stage.

If you try Lite Forum and have ideas, suggestions, bugs, or features you’d like to see, I’d love to hear from you.

Thanks a lot for your support!

Luis
