neoEdge Source Code

neoEdge.exe is a simple VisualNEO Win application. It includes an Edge web browser (WebView2) to load any VisualNEO Web app so it can execute any VisualNEO Win command.

You can customize, improve and add additional plugins to neoEdge by compiling it using VisualNEO Win.

Thank you so much for your creativity in developing the programming environment! This is an incredible solution!

Many thanks also to David Esperalta for this contribution and for all his wonderful plugins!

It's a joy to see the beautiful fruits of a collective effort!

Thank you very much .

This is great news.

Thank you so much.

There is an error when loading the source into VNW that a file was not found. Think it was the .ico icon file.

@krakerman the idea sharing the source code is that you can use your own icon for your customized application. Anyway it's attached here, just in case you need it :)
Best regards

Is neoEdge the plugin? or is it npEdge? .... I hope that Edge browser components are built into the next version of VisualNEO Win.

Thanks

Is neoEdge the plugin? or is it npEdge?

@fkapnist neoEdge.exe is a Windows executable that includes an embedded Edge browser. It allows VisualNEO Web to use VisualNEO Win commands thanks to a specific plugin with the same name "neoEdge". So, neoEdge plugin for VisualNEO Web includes the commands to call VisualNEO Win commands within neoEdge.exe.

On the other hand, If you need to compile neoEdge.exe (you can do it using VisualNEO Win) you will need npEgde plugin for VisualNEO Win from David Esperalta.

Regards.

I can't find a link for NeoEdge.exe or the plugin with the name, neoEdge. The link above opens only to an icon... and the one above that is just  a pub file.... Is the neoEdge plugin link located on another page of this forum? Thanks.

So neoEdge.pub requires the npEdge plugin to compile neoEdge.exe

and neoedge.nabpsrc is the source code for a NEO Win plugin?

How do I use neoedge.nabpsrc ? Does it need to be compiled? Thanks

Yes

and neoedge.nabpsrc is the source code for a NEO Win plugin?

No, it's the source code for VisualNEO Web plugin.

How do I use neoedge.nabpsrc ? Does it need to be compiled? Thanks

It's already compiled and installed with VisualNEO Web.
You should compile it only if you want to add additional commands (ie: access to VisualNEO Win plugins added to a neoEdge.exe custom compilation)
All .nabsrc files can be edited and compiled with the included Plugin Generator. You will find it under Tools menu in VisualNEO Web.

Is the neoEdge plugin link located on another page of this forum?

It's located on the second post within this thread (neoedge.nabpsrc)

Ok. I think I got it now. I found the neoEdge.zip on the main download page. It contains neoEdge.exe and webview2loader.dll. I also got the npEdge plugin from David Esperalta. Allof these items are for NEO Win.  But neoedge.nabpsrc is a plugin source code for NEO Web.  I need some further instructions on how to install neoedge.nabpsrc into NEO Web.     Thanks.

I have version 20. 11. 02 of NEO Web and there is no NeoEdge plugin included with it... Can I download a ready-to-go nabp plugin from somewhere, or do I have to compile the nabpsrc source code by myself?

It's already installed. You don't need to install it again unless you are going to modify it.
If you are interested in how to use the Plugin Generator to edit neoedge.nabpsrc please check this video:

That's a quite old version. neoEdge plugin is included with a recent version. Please check this video:

I downloaded a trail version of the latest NEO Web zip and I got the desired plugin. My registered version recognizes the plugin and all of its actions, but the neoEdge icon does not appear on the top toolbar.

My registered version is 14 months old. It does not have the "include neoEdge and NWjs compatibiltity" checkbox in its App Properties dialogue. So I guess I'll have to upgrade NEO Web for the third time. Since neoEdge.exe is compiled and ready, I won't need to purchase the npEdge plugin unless I want to modify something in the neoEdge.exe file. The npEdge plugin costs about as much as the entire NEO Win package.  Oh, well. Since these are times of pandemic and market lockdown, we will wait and see....

My registered version is 14 months old.

There has been more than 10 new releases since then, some of them major versions. A bunch of new functionalities have been added:

So I guess I'll have to upgrade NEO Web for the third time.

As a registered user you can do that at 50% discount. Just send me an email asking for a coupon if you are interested.
