Thought I’d pop in and introduce myself.
I’ve been using VisualNeoWin since the NeoBook V4 days… which was, let’s just say, over 20+ years ago (my knees remind me daily). What started back then never really left, and these days I’m still very much in the Neo ecosystem. I always check in here to see what's going down
More recently, I’ve fallen deep down the robotics rabbit hole. It started as a hobby, but I’m really into it now with hopes that one day it might turn into something a bit more professional (or at least fund more 3D printer filament).
I chose VisualNeoWin because it saves me a huge amount of time, but like many of you, I felt it was missing some of the modern tools and technologies we’ve all come to expect from today’s dev platforms. So instead of complaining about it… I started fixing it 😄
Over the past few years, I’ve been developing and porting modern technologies into VisualNeoWin to help bring it a bit more “up to speed.” Along the way, I realised these plugins and tools might actually be useful to others too so here we are.
If anyone else is playing around with VisualNeoWin + robotics, please DM me I’d love to chat and compare notes.
I’m also currently developing an open-source, 3D-printed bipedal robot (yes, it will walk… eventually). That project will be launching soon for all to build, and I’ll be sharing the website once it’s ready, with some of the software components made with VisualneoWin.
Looking forward to being part of the community again and seeing what everyone else is building.
Some Plugins in the works that may be coming your way.
Python Bridge, OpenCV Plugin, ThreeJS Plugin, ArduinoPlugin, LLM Plugin.... and many more I have to polish and make them distributable for you guys to use, in my very little free time I have... These are things I have made and been using... Making my life easier
If you guys are into any of this stuff or like what you are hearing drop me a line! :)
Ciao for now!

Quote from Kriscall on January 29, 2026, 9:54 amThankyou Louis I have always loved the format of VisualNeo applications. I know also you can't work on all of these applications with all you business efforts. So happy to contribute to polish this old GEM! If we can keep it up to date with the modern stuff more people will keep use it and keep finding new uses for it!
