QuikMenu III, developed by NeoSoft Corp., was released in 1993 as a graphical interface for DOS systems. This tool allowed users to run programs and games using customized shortcuts, offering features such as file management, modem dialing, password protection, wallpapers, and more.

Later, in 1998, an updated version called QuikMenu v3.1h was released, which included enhancements such as a calculator, calendar, phonebook, and additional configuration options.

Both versions are available for download from sites like Archive.org and Vetusware, and are compatible with emulators like DOSBox, making them easy to use on modern systems.

This was one of the top-of-the-line programs from our beloved NeoSoft. Beloved for providing a user-friendly graphical interface in MS-DOS... a technological marvel at the time. Computing was more fun when the internet wasn't yet available everywhere. Having even one of these programs installed caused excitement and people gathered around the monitor.

About then I was mostly using OS-2 (1 through to 4 warp) which was a pretty good desktop, I'd been working with MAC OS from about 5 but enjoyed the Amiga OS and it's GUI from workbench . I still use the Amiga OS and it's hardware base now grown into a bit more of a frankensteins creation with more add on boards than native. There was a link between OS2 and Amiga, they both used REXX which was very useful for cross app communications.
Slightly more fun days really when what is viewed now as a standard was almost like witchcraft ;)
