Scrolling text in 3D

Hello Luis, I have another question for you.  My request seems popular and useful for everyone.  I'm happy to participate.

Here is my question:
Is it possible to write a text (paragraph) in depth (3D) which will scroll as a paragraph with VisualNeo Web?

I sent you an example what I mean. (see picture)

Thanks!

Roger

Hi @rocote, I think this will be a good starting point. Just adjust the perspective and animation timing to get the best results :)

Thanks Luis!

Since this morning, I have been working on my web page with the instructions of our new tutorial on "3D Perspective Scrolling Text".

Since I have an iMac and a laptop PC, I can test my PWA application and see how it's behaving.  I do my test on my Mac using VisualNeo Web with Parallel Desktop and my laptop PC.  But I can also test my application on web both with the Mac and the PC.

Also, since I now have my own "domain" on the web with my unlimited space and since yesterday, I can do several tests with different "browsers".

In my opinion, the best browser you can take to test your application and the best you should suggest to your customers is "FireFox".

1 - With Firefox, colors and animation are the same as the tests you do locally with VisualNeo Web. That is to say, on your computer.

2 - The second is a little different. It's SAFARI for the Mac. It tends to offer different colors but the 3D "scroll" animation is correct.

3 - Google Chrome for the Mac is very different in terms of animation. The 3D text "scroll" is moving too high. However, the colors are good. With Google Chrome for my laptop, the text "scroll" is also high but a little less. If someone has a solution to fix the problem with Google Chrome, don't hesitate to let me know.

4 - With Microsoft Edge, it is another story! The text is larger (on chair) and the 3D "scroll" animation is lower than normal. I do not recommend this "browser" for the moment. I didn't add an image for this "browser".

I have sent you three images so that you can compare FireFox, Safari and Google Chrome.

I hope you find this information useful.

Thanks, Roger

Hi @rocote, thanks for your information.

On my Windows 10 all web browsers seems to work fine with my sample app. Tested on Internet Explorer, FireFox, Chrome and Edge (last versions). There are almost no difference when comparing each one.

Regards.

I must have done something wrong then.

I think my mistake is in moving the "containers". Alignment is very important to what I see.

Luis, what exactly does the Style "perspective 400px" property represent?

Roger

@rocote, note that VisualNEO Web is a just tool to facilitate web technologies programming and utilization. Perspective, as all the rest of available properties, are standard CSS properties, so there is a buch of information about how they work. Please take a look here:

Thanks for your answer Luis.

Ok, so if something goes wrong with VisualNeo Web, we have to go to the outside world to understand certain properties of the software commands?

Hmm ...? When you don't know exactly what to look for, then it could make using the software even more difficult.

So, it would be good to have an internet link that would explain these properties that are in VisualNeo Web.

Keep in mind that VisualNeo Web is suppose to be an easy-to-use RAD, otherwise it remains perplexed and unanswered for several utilities found in VNW.

As I said before, you as a software designer don't have to go through what a beginner with VNW or a programming newbie has to go through to use it.  I think is must be the same for experimented programmer starting with VNW.

Again I repeat, there must be benchmarks in the software to bring the user on a track in order to develop his autonomy. Otherwise, many questions will go unanswered and that will undermine the value of using VNW.  I wouldn't want this to happen.

In the near future, can we expect a good tutorial for VNW?

Thanks Luis

Yes, web technologies are growing every single day and are really a huge knowledge field. Even if VisualNEO Web remains static, it's possibilities expands more and more with each new Web Browser version, JavaScript available libraries or server side programming languages. This is very different from VisualNEO Win and it's what makes VisualNEO Web much more powerful.

We will probably never master all the possibilities.

Will it be possible to compile your application as a web page (PWA) later with VisualNeo Win?

Will it be possible to compile your application as a web page (PWA) later with VisualNeo Win?

As far as I know that's not possible. VisualNEO Win is a completely different technology. Sorry.

Here is what I've found about the Perspective Value:

The value of perspective determines the intensity of the 3D effect. Think of it as a distance from the viewer to the object. The greater the value, the further the distance, the less intense the visual effect.
