Introducing sgNeoWordEditor, a rich-text word processor plug-in for VisualNEO Win. It attaches a full editor to any Rectangle object, so you can build letter writers, note-taking tools, report generators, or document editors into your publications.

What it can do

• Word documents: open and save .docx files directly, with no Microsoft Word needed. RTF and plain text are supported too.
• Page view like Word's Print Layout: a white page on a grey background, with real paper size and margins. Dotted lines show where each printed page begins.
• Formatting:
  • fonts, sizes, bold/italic/underline, colours, and highlight
  • superscript/subscript, alignment, and indents
  • line spacing, bullets, and numbered lists
  • a built-in toolbar and a draggable ruler
• Insert tables, pictures, OLE objects, hyperlinks, page breaks, and special characters.
• Output:
  • printing with headers and footers (page numbers, date, title)
  • print preview
  • export to PDF, HTML, Markdown, and RTF
• Spell checking: uses the Windows spell checker, with a dialog, live underlining, and suggestions. It works with Indian languages too.
• Several editors on one page: each editor belongs to its own Rectangle.
• Tools: find and replace, undo/redo, protected text, zoom, read-only mode, and right-to-left text.

74 actions are grouped in the action list: Open/Close, Settings, Tool Menu, File, Edit, Text & Lines, Selection, Font, Paragraph, Insert and Spell Check. All of them start with sgEditor…, and each has its own properties dialog.

Requirements: VisualNEO Win and Windows 10/11 (Windows 8+ for spell checking). No third-party components or runtimes are needed.

The package includes a demo publication that uses every action, and an HTML help file covering every command with its syntax, parameters, and examples.

The development of this plugin was inspired by the work of C.Giebel, Editors ToolBox Version 1.75, which was published in 2006 and has not been upgraded anymore. The focus of this development is to open MS-Word and RTF file.  It's not reinventing the wheel; it is a new effort to use the upgraded RTF control and to make it compliant with the modern build of VisualNeo Win.
