You have to set the Background property to hollow.
Works for me on my win7 tablet.

Quote from donbwalker on October 28, 2018, 2:32 pmHello HPW good to hear from you.
Well that seems to work on a plain background, but look what happens when I have a picture for background. It seems to grab the background where the animation starts. If the animated GIF does not move it is good but if it moves using the followpath action, it takes the original background with it. Note the lower butterfly is just an image and not a moving gif. The other one started down below it and moved to the top position shown.
I was trying to get the butterfly to fly across the image. I will experiment a bit more to see if there are some other quirks I could use to make it work.
Note: Not sure why my image is not showing up here. It shows up when editing but then goes away. What am I missing.

Quote from HPW on October 28, 2018, 3:48 pmHello,
Ok, can reproduce that here with a animated gif moving over colored rectangles.
As a Workaround i converted the gif to car (with PixelNeo) and move the car with PlayCartoonFile.
This preserve my Background on move. Not so handy and flexibel as the gif -Option.

Quote from donbwalker on October 28, 2018, 4:37 pmAh and so it is. Bummer.
The cartoon does work, but like you said it has limited options.
Would love to see a plugin that addresses some of these issues. The follow a path is a nice feature. Would be better if you could follow an object like a transparent curved line etc.
Anyway thanks for your great help. I do appreciate it.

The follow a path is a nice feature.
In the end it is only a list of pairs of coordinates.
Use the wizerd of MoveObjectAlongPath to produce the path-list.
Then take the pair of coordinates to write seversl lines of PlayCartoonFile-commands.
Should produce similar results. Not as comfortable, but possible.

Quote from donbwalker on October 28, 2018, 10:32 pmWell, that is a unique approach. I see you used 64 images to create the effect. Not being a gif I suspect it could be moved down a path. I will give it a shot. Thanks much.

Quote from donbwalker on October 28, 2018, 10:43 pmYes that actually works very well. If I use the moveobjectalongpath and the polygon, with the right settings as you show, it worked well. I did have to add another loop between the animation so it would continue during its ride now the path.
Nice!
