Hi luishp..... so far so good. I know in a previous post you said that we need to uninstall the current version before we install the newer version, or can we just update with the newer versions?. I did uninstall the older version first but then it uninstall (removes) all the plugins as well and then i have to install all the plugins all over again.

Just need clearance if we can update new versions over the current versions?

Thank You

Hi @impactband4u,
It's NOT necessary to uninstall VisualNEO Win.
It's only necessary to do it with VisualNEO Web, and it will be not necessary anymore in future versions.
Regards.

New Tool Icons (modern design).

What for?
Why from a Windows application to do a web?
People on Windows 10 with such a poor interface only work on hopelessness. Why else and adjust the program for it?

Of course, there is no argument about tastes ... The tool should not be monophonic.
Look at the color palette. If you name any color, you will immediately find it in a split second.
Now look at the tool palette. Mentally name any object, and look at how much it becomes more difficult.

I'm not talking about the attractiveness of the program for new users.

Hi @mishem,

I'm conviced it's necessary to renew the interface for a modern look.
If anyone want to share an alternative icon pack or propose any change in their design I'm open to change them again.

And what the old do not like?
Could it be better to spend time correcting / adding new features?
In the next topic a lot of wishes. :)

And what the old do not like?

Sorry, It's a very outdated design (from 90's)

Yes of course, I totally agree!
Just keep in mind it has taken us months to get the complete source code and being able to compile it. Even following very carefully the instructions from Neosoftware.
VisualNEO Win is a huge project (near 10.000 files) with no documentation and only a few comments here and there within the source code. This is Dave's comment about it:

Unfortunately, Delphi 7 and the NeoBook code are both very old. The NeoBook code is also very complicated. Even someone very experienced with Delphi would find it difficult to understand.

So please, have realistic expectations about future updates. Although I do not surrender easily, I'm not Dave nor this guy.
What I'm doing is focusing our efforts in what can be done right now.
By now VisualNEO Win will have minor updates on design and better quality examples while we struggle trying to understand how it works.
Best regards.

Sorry, It's a very outdated design (from 90's)

In my opinion, the design is optimally made to work. We just all got used to it. Even if you change the icons, and there are more than 300, then the design will become outdated in a month or a year. Everything new is well forgotten old.

Of course, this is for you to make a decision, but I think it will not be superfluous to express my opinion.
For me, the design of the 90s is better than the new one. Let's look at programs designed specifically for working with tools. Photoshop, Corel, SketchUp and many others. They also design was made in the 90s, but they do not lose their popularity.

Good luck to you. We hope that the program will continue to evolve.

Vadim is currently investing heavily in distributing the program’s advertising in Russia. But you need to understand that in Russia the dollar rate and the cost of living are not comparable.

Maybe you reconsider the concept of distribution of the program? The program itself with a minimum set of commands to distribute for free. And modules with commands (plug-ins) to distribute for a fee (within reasonable limits). I think that for 5-10 dollars many will buy 100 plug-ins from us, but they will never buy the program for 500-1000.

60 dollars in Russia is about 4,000 rubles. Not every user or parent decides to spend them on a program from an average salary of 15,000–20,000.

And in other countries, I think the situation is no better.

Hi @mishem,

Everything new is well forgotten old.

We will try to keep evolving while preserving usability.
In any case will think about a polychromatic solution for tool icons, as I understand your point of view.
Meanwhile do not update if you feel confortable with the previous version.

We hope that the program will continue to evolve.

Me too!

I know Vadim doesn't speak english so please let him know we are very open to any kind of collaboration. We can even give his courses some kind of "VisualNEO Certified" seal to improve trusting.

Maybe you reconsider the concept of distribution of the program?

I'm open to anything reasonable and sustainable. We can't sell very cheap products for a number of reasons:
Right now each purchase must be manually processed (registration keys, taxes, invoices, legal information, royalties...)
I would like to offer a free version but, although this is almost a personal project within my company, I have not come to an agreement with my partners.
We are thinking about offering licenses packages for educative institutions and companies with virtually unlimited activations within a period of time (let's say one year or any previously agreed amount of time). After that period the licenses should expire.
So we can sell to a unique buyer, with an important disccount, under a per project agreement.

Sorry, It's a very outdated design (from 90's)

Outdated?

Hm-m-m....

I completely agree!

Modern style....

What is the "modern style"?

Style of Windows 10 .... Android... ?

Windows 10 have't style! Interface of Win10 is the mess!

In any case flat monochrome windows, panels and icons is not style for development tools

In any case will think about a polychromatic solution for tool icons,

It sounds optimistic...  :)

So please, have realistic expectations about future updates.

Yes, of cource!

Luis, I understand what difficulties you are facing now, and I afraid that earlier than in a year the real program updates not will be.

Good luck to you. We hope that the program will continue to evolve.

I join the wishes!

P.S.

what can be done right now.

It's very simple - put back the help file, please!

For plugins too.

:)

Unless a new version is released with "must-have" features, I will keep building my tests with Neobook 5... However, there has been much improvement with VisualNEO Web, which can be placed in Neobook rectangles with Chrome kiosk mode or IE Web Browser objects to respond to Windows 10 system settings and to access the Internet using mobile wifi devices.

As VisualNEO Win developers struggle trying to understand how Neobook works, they will discover how to make it more compatible with hand-held tablets and touch-screen mobile devices not made in the 90s...

Since VisualNEO Win developers made the good decision to release new versions, it is sensible to start with something simple (to debug their new-release compilers, for example) and progressively release more complex version changes. Bravo and good luck.

Luis, thank you very much! I would be happy to have the opportunity to place such a certificate on the page online course! Please send it to me by email.

About colors. I have observed and accompanied many applications switching to buttons and menus with colorless icons. I consider this, simply fad, which impoverishes the interfaces, and makes the objectives of buttons and menus less clear. Colors are something present in the signs of everyday life, in nature and in objects, images and photos. Compare a landscape with colors and without colors, a photo of a city or an enclosure. The difference is striking, and those in color are noticeably richer in detail and information. The same thing happens with a software interface, and a programming tool. Making an interface less intuitive and dynamic to follow market standards, imposed by large companies, and that are constantly changing, is not something good to users. We can modernize, but using colors, and the results will be much better. Thank you for your attention.

We are working on colored icons and exporting the help file to .chm format.
Thanks for your comments and patience.
