I can't seem to "disable" any devices.
I'm assuming to disable would be to "turn it off"?
Every device I disable seems to continue working as normal. My goal is to disable a card scanner and enable it only when prompted to scan a card.
Is there something I'm missing?

You can also enable/disable input of your card scanner in the pub with ShortCut keys etc. Check the demo

Yep, I think that's my only option here at this point. I've looked into a couple of other alternatives including registry selective suspend and whatnot, and I don't really want to go that deep into it. I even tried a command line program called USBDeview and it wouldn't disable the scanner.
