Quote from PaulJonestindall on June 9, 2022, 2:56 pmAnyone have a very basic, easy to use camera plugin?
I've got both of as3856's CamScan and Camcorder plugins and MatCam and I've looked at David Esperalta's npCams.
MatCam seems very fit for purpose except I can't seem to make it function with my Surface Pro front or rear cameras. It has an action that allows me to set the driver but not the camera.
I'll also note that some of the other plugins may list camera resolutions that may or may not actually work or call out a compression that doesn't exist.

My old NeoWebCam plugin works on top of Video for Windows (VFW).
It doesn't use the new resolutions of the new cameras, but you can set the size to test as far as it is suitable.
In addition, you can select / change the device you want to use through the dialog provided by the VFW controller, or directly through the plugin's internal actions.
I am attaching a demo EXE, to see if it meets expectations.
Cheers

If you read this post, it does seem that your CamScan is the best camera plugin I've come across. However, and I can't tell weather it's my Surface Pro tablets or not but I've found something out; and I'll be referring to your demo PUB. Surface Pros have two cameras. One in front and back. Some tablets have "Microsoft" cameras and some have "Surface" cameras (ComboBox1). When I get the list of video formats (ListBox1), on the Microsoft cameras the first item on the list is 1920x1080 and on the Surface cameras the first item is 640x380. It doesn't matter what number I use for the video format [Numb]...
asCamScanConnect "[ComboBox1]" "Connect" "[Numb]" "[ComboBox2]" "[INFA]" it always uses zero or the first item on the list.
Do I have an older version of the plugin?

Well, I've tried two other ordinary cameras, USB webcams. Each display a list of resolutions or video formats.
No matter what I use in asCamScanConnect it always uses 0 or the first item on the list. I can't select any other format.
