I never had that problem but try to rename the .ico (icon) file and see if that works and also see the properties of the icon file if it is "Read-only" and change that.

I've discovered sometimes it's the size of the .ICO file. i.e. 32x32 vs 48x48. I do sometimes get a icon compile error and sometimes not. It's odd. Try resizing; might help.

Tried all, converting images to ico using online converters (which used to work for me when it was neobook), used already created ico file for windows, used icoFX and other software to create icon for windows and nothing works. It's so frustrating, do I need to use those really old apps that change the app default ico like changing the resources file of the app? it's crazy

As you can see on the images I'm doing what I'm supposed to, but I always get the default icon, I also used resource hacker, and I can see my icon, but there is also the default icon which seems to be predominant.

Any idea? I really need to solve this issue ASAP

I found that sometimes when i change or add a .ico (icon) file in my pub and compile/publish it, it doesn't change the icon on the .exe file, even if i delete the old file and insert the new file, until i restarted the computer, so just check if that maybe the problem, and if you move the .exe file to another computer the icon will display correct.

I don't have any problems with icons other than that in Ver 19.4.29

If you have antivirus, it may be blocking it. Try to exclude the program from antivirus so that it trusts it.

Also, check, it is best to run VisualNEO with administrator rights.

After a while I found and solved part of the issue, it was due to system language, I was using the english version of VisualNeoWin but my system language was spanish, this caused some issues when compiling with the following symptoms:

• When not using the option "Compress Application EXE with UPX", the default VisualNeoWin icon was shown in the app instead of my customized icon.
• When using the option "Compress Application EXE with UPX", no icon was shown in the app file.

What I did was to change my system language to english, and now my app shows the customized icon when using or not the "Compress Application EXE with UPX" option, so that's OK.

But now the problem comes when I try to digitally sign the app using digital certificate, the signing process shows it was correct and I can see the certificate details when I check the app properties in Windows, but when I execute the app then I see the attached message (image). I already signed other apps with the same certificate and no issues.

Any  idea why is this happening? I have the feeling that the root cause is the same and I partially solved the compiling by changing the system language but it's still there, any thought on how to solve it?

I really appreciate you guys can help me to solve this,

@hugo-neira I have only seen that message when trying to protect VisualNEO Win generated apps with some software protection applications. That's because the resorces are compressed and not accesible to the app.
Anyway I don't recommend using UPX compression anymore due to the increased possibility of antivirus false positives.
