I have been using this component and shared pub for a good while for my own personal use. Recently it stopped working.

Can someone confirm that it no longer works? Or perhaps it's something on my end ;-/

Does anyone have the McYoutube command line demo ? Could someone please test this on their end so I know if the component isn't working anymore, or if it's me?

I'm willing to test, but I don't have this plugin (or is it not a plugin?). I have never used McYoutube and don't know what it is. If you give me a link to the demo project and tell me what to do, I'll try to run it on my computer and let you know the results.

You need to login to have access to uploads.

If your problem is download video from youtube using a program via command line I use this

https://youtube-dl.org/

https://youtube-dl.org/downloads/latest/youtube-dl.exe

Hi @naglieri

I tested all firewalls and settings and then I noticed a file by the file extension of "exe.new". I renamed the main file and engaged this one, and now .... it's working again.

Rather odd, but it's working ;-)

Look in the folder the files exist and look for mcYoutube-dl.exe.new. If it's there, then replace the mcYoutube-dl.exe file with the new file (rename them) and try again ;-)

That was exactly the error I got as well.

Yes, that's how it works!

Only I moved the project file to the folder where mcYoutube-dl.exe is. And in the command exit put quotation marks (they are required by the rules of syntax, otherwise gives an error).
In the demo file, the images are not displayed because their properties specify the address of your local computer. This can be avoided by saving the project through the menu Project/Archive (backup). In this case, the project will open in the same way as yours.

I also noticed that after closing the project, the file mcYoutube-dl_Test.exe remains hanging in processes and you have to kill it manually through the task manager.

Last year I created a project from this for my own use too.. I put it up at the link below this week.. It allows you to browse YouTube with Chrome and download a video that you play or just download by url. It's pretty reliable, just remember it can take some time if your downloading a large video.. Try a short video first. I need to improve the status with a progress rather than a spinner.. but it's free!
