Mobile Monetization?

I've been working on a couple of proof of concept mobile app ideas and I'm trying to figure out the best way to monetize the app.

  1. Outright purchase - guarantees a sale but the barrier to entry is off-putting to a lot of people
  2. Ad monetizing - carefully placed ads to bring in passive income

I'm strongly leaning toward the ad monetization, however, I'm only familiar with Unity Ads (for games).  I hear AdMob is good but very difficult to work with.

Does anyone have any insights, thoughts, and maybe there own experiences?

You can also offer customized apps. That's our main profits source.
Selling your apps in a marketplace like codecanyon.net is a good option too.
I personally don't like ad monetizing.

Regards.

PacketSDK unlocks a new passive income path for developers. It offers substantial revenue through anonymous encryption of the entire data chain without collecting sensitive information, eliminating privacy disputes and compliance risks. It far surpasses competing products in terms of ambiguous data flow and default authorization issues. It is lightweight and integrated without occupying core resources, without performance losses such as lag or overheating, and without ad植入 that disturbs the user experience. It is legally compliant and compatible with global privacy regulations, allowing developers to earn income with peace of mind without any worries.
