I purchased my current version of NeoBook several years ago, shortly before it was rebranded as VisualNeo.
I have posted in the forum on several occasions concerning plugins or other features that don't quite work as expected and most all replies from users are saying they don't have the same issues. Take Andrei (@as3856 ) for instance, some of his plugins, merely by installing them, will cause my version of NeoBook to not run in debug mode. Could there be a fundamental difference between his version of VisualNeo and my version of NeoBook causing these issues? Should I consider upgrading to VisualNeo?

@pauljonestindall VisualNEO Win is just a rebranded NeoBook last version. Both should work exactly the same. The only specific plugin is NeoDBpro as it calls the host application by its name.
Not sure, but I think Andrei (@as3856 ) uses NeoBook instead of VisualNEO Win when developing plugins.
Anyway you can download and install VisualNEO trial version and test it. It will not affect your NeoBook configuration.

I'll give the VisualNeo trial a try and let you know.
@as3856
I'm using Windows 10 Pro 64-bit on a Surface Pro 6.
Full disclosure: I have been a NeoBook user for well over 20 years starting with the DOS version. I own a personal copy of the software that I purchased about 10 years ago, version 5.6.4a, and several years ago my company purchased a copy for me that I am currently using for development, version 5.8.7. Both versions are running on Windows 10 Pro 64-bit computers.
With that said, Andrei, your asCalendar plugin for instance appears to work fine with the older NeoBook version. While at the same time it will completely prevent me from using NeoBook in debug mode in the newer version, whether or not I actually use the plugin in my PUB. Luis, this is what brought me to my original question of the differences between NB and VN.
