Play MP3 File

Hello guys, I was searching forum for a very simple need for me, I want to play an mp3 file in background for my simple app.

Built-in command of VisualNEO don't have mp3 playback, and I failed to find any free plugins for that.

I'm sure there was something or some plugin, I need something that is small and fast to play mp3 or ogg files.

Nothing super duper important...

Thanks.

Have you tried here?

This is VisualNEO Web, its not working, at least not on edge browser for me.
And I'm using VisualNEO Win bro!

EDIT: damn sorry, I wanted to post this on VisualNEO Win general forum... not VisualNEO Web!

I'm able to play mp3 files using the built-in "PlaySoundFile" command.

I'm not, seems like on windows 10 and 11 MCI Commands are changed and nothing works for me. no plugin, no built in command...

Maybe you are on Windows 7 or 8?

@noyzen

Upload your file that is not playing. I have Win 10 and it plays mp3.

Perhaps you changed something in the system settings, or the file is corrupted.

I'm on Win 11 and the "PlaySoundFile" command plays mp3 files...

Maybe a codec issue?

Not sure whats missing on my system... but i used a wave instead and somehow solved my problem...

Well, not solved, Just used wave :D

I remember a few years ago I was using the DX plugin and there was an issue playing some mp3 files. Some would play, others would not. So I uploaded one of the files to an online file conversion utility. I uploaded an mp3 file and converted it to an mp3. I know it sounds strange, but it worked...

Try using different mp3 files... With different compression and bit rate types...

Thank you for help, I used another mp3 file and now built-in function of VisualNeo Win works!

It has no options thats sad, but I think we can use advanced MCI commands...

anyways I just wanted to play a background music, and it's working now.

@noyzen

The problem comes from the metadata of the mp3 or sound file. You can use mp3tag or other programs to remove only the tags from the file and it will work fine. I also want to mention that when you have a mp3 file with a long name, you also may get an error playing the file.

Greetings

Use the media player object.

Hide it or move it off the page.
