I'm progressing very quickly on the initial idea and it's now working on my local PC quite well.
The concept is very similar to NWjs or Electron (hybrid applications for Windows) but using Microsoft Edge instead of Chromium and VisualNEO Win commands instead of NodeJS. So you just need to execute the new lightweight executable neoEdge.exe (about 3Mb) from the same folder where your compiled app is located or even use it to execute your remotely hosted app.
So it will be possible to:
- Execute any VisualNEO Win command directly from VisualNEO Web with just one click.
- Use a new plugin to get very similar Wizards to those found on VisualNEO Win, for most of the core commands (more to come).
- Compile any VisualNEO Win plugin into neoEdge so it's available into VisualNEO Web too (now NeoDBpro is included).
- Send information from VisualNEO Web to Win and from Win to Web (variable values)
- And you don't need VisualNEO Win at all...
Take a look at the attached picture to see how I'm going to integrate it with ViusalNEO Web: just one click!
I think this opens up a huge world of possibilities.
Let me know what you think :)
