Trojan: XPACK False Positive?

@luishp

My IT and Network Security is detecting XPACK trojan in the NeoVisual Win EXE file. Is anyone else experiencing this issue and if so is there a solution?

@pauljonestindall

You need to write to the antivirus support service to have them rule out a false positive. They will double-check and eliminate false positives.

@pauljonestindall our executables are digitally signed and it should be a warranty for the antivirus software. Anyway whenever we have submited a false positive, the antivirus vendor has whitelisted our executables with no major issues.
But I agree this is a pain in the ass...

Regards.

UPX (Ultimate Packer for eXecutables) is a widely accepted open source software packer (used by many compilers, including VisualNEO Win). Unfortunately, recently some "heavily modified" UPX compressors have been flagged as malware obfuscation layers. To avoid any occurrences of false positives, the UPX option should probably be unchecked by default before publishing/compiling.
