Quote from PaulJonestindall on March 26, 2021, 3:39 pmJust a quick question... If I'm not mistaken, I'm using the last version of NeoBook before the rebranding. While the current purchase price of VisualNeo is quite reasonable, is there a discount for upgrading from NeoBook?
This also brings up the question of NeoBookDBPro vs NeoDBPro. Will I have to upgrade here as well as I understand the combinations are not compatible?
Thanks.

Please, keep in mind last NeoBook version is exactly the same as current VisualNEO Win version except for some aesthetic changes. If you want to purchase VisualNEO Win anyway and really need a discount please send me an email or use the contact form.

Your current NeoBookDBPro registration keys will work with NeoDBPro.
Best regards.

Quote from PaulJonestindall on April 11, 2021, 8:17 pmThank you for your reply. I don't necessarily need a discount. I was just curious. But I am now wondering if I actually do have the last version of NeoBook because I've looked at other users sample PUBs and I see certain things like rounded rectangle objects and scroll bars beyond the main window. There are certain things that will display in my version of NeoBook but I have no way of duplicating.
I think it's probably time to upgrade, and I look forward to any new developments. I think also VisualNeo Web is in my not so distant future.
Thanks for all you do,
Paul

Quote from matty47 on August 19, 2021, 8:52 amHi,
I am registered user of NeoBook and currently using 5.8.7. I also have licences for NeoDBPro (purchased from Neo Software) and Neo FMFTP (purchased from you). These are both working fine with my current version of NeoBook. I would be happy to upgrade to the latest VisualNeo Win latest version however, given latest news about DBPro, I just want to know if I would also be required to re-purchase that plugin (NeoDBPro) or would my existing registration work?
I also have latest registered version of VisualNeoWeb but find that I use other software to create cross platform apps as it is a bit confusing and limiting with VisualNeoWeb,
Thanks for your advice.

No, all your previosly purchased NeoBook plugins will work with VisualNEO Win as well. Just be sure to install NeoDBpro last version (same license key purchased fron Nesoftware will work)

This comment worries me a lot. Why do you find it confusing and limiting?
We have done a huge effort these years to add as much functionality as possible including very advanced options. We have also published step by step video tutorials and included many samples. Also most questions get answered within a few hours in this forum :(Thank you in advance for letting us know.

Quote from matty47 on August 19, 2021, 10:53 amThanks for the quick response. I find the most confusing part of VisualNeoWeb the build process - how to actually produce a final distributable executable. Whilst there seems to be various options, the processes are involved (to my way of thinking). I try to create cross platform programs with emphasis on Android, Windows and Mac. I am approaching 70 years so grew up in an era when home computing was just taking off. I suppose I am used to having a programming environment where you can use the environment itself to produce the final distributable - not have to upload to an online "compiler". The actual programming steps - logic, algorithms etc - I find easy it's just the final production stage that is "different".
My comment was not to criticize, it was just to explain my experience. It is great that you have taken up the software after Neobook ceased development. I purchased VisualNeo Web in May 2019 and have purchased 4 upgrades since then so I believe that the software is more than capable.

@matty47 in it's simplest form just compile the project with default settings and upload to a web server. That's all. Complexities comes from app stores requirements, but even so, we have put a lot of work in making it as simple as possible. Most of my own projects are simple web applications and PWA (an advanced form of web application). Some of the my PWA are packed for the app stores using pwabuilder.com. I have never used Volt Builder nor Cordova in professinal projects, although the options are there for advanced users willing to use them. Anyway, if you want to give VisualNEO Web a second chance we will be here to help.

For us knowing negative experiences is very important. Thank you!
