VisualNEO Web objects "Snap Position"

PreviousPage 2 of 2

Thanks to Luis, Ronnie and CDY44 for your feedback.

Ronnie, this is exactly what was wrong. As Luis had suggested to me, it was a problem that had to be fixed or adjusted manually.

Note: This morning, before checking my video software with mwjs.app and mw.exe, I ran my application with the file "index.html". When I wanted to try different screen sizes for my video, the video "container" is to move completely to an unexpected position. I think that the coordinates of the "container" do not remain stable when running "index.html".

On the other hand, they seem less affected when using mx.exe or mwjs.app but again, the coordinates that I had put for the "container", were a little bit wrong.

I still need to work with the container coordinates to understand the problem.

What is happening?
I click everywhere on my graphic interface and now all my buttons disappear. This can only be a "bug".

I cannot move forward this way because everything I do seems to not work because the logic of the settings does not work well. Everything I have done so far is very simple however and the software does not allow me to move forward.

I spend my time redoing in another way what I have already managed to do. Even by doing this, I find myself again faced with problems that I cannot solve.

As far as I'm concerned, I will wait until the next version of VisualNeo Web to see if the simple things work well.

I was proud that it seemed to work, but with further testing, I was wrong.

Sorry...

@rocote note that I have developed quite complex apps and even sold them for thousands of euros using VisualNEO Web from its very early stages:

This one allow doctors detect the possible presence of SHOX gene in childrens with growing problems.
It's used by two of the major hospitals here in Spain: "La Paz" and "Vall D'Hebron". It has passed very strict auditory tests:
https://www.proyectocrecemos.com

This one applies complex calculations (server side) to calculate your home security against robbery attemps.
The application won a prize from the home security industry:
https://www.evaluadordeseguridad.com

This one is used by an important pharmaceutical company to motivate their workers with a points based game (demo):
https://cazadores.luishp.com

So VisualNEO Web can and in fact is used for professional applications development with success.
Of course you can face problems, but they will not be fixed ever if I don't understand what's happening there. Probably it's a bug but perhaps (only perhaps) there is a problem in your own app that fires that strange behaviour.

Regards.

yes @luishp, you are right,

@rocote
since 2 years I have developed maybe over 30 projects in different purpose but still I have never to face with this kind problem.

Hello Luis, thank you for your answer.

You have to understand that even the best sports car driver would never doubt that a simple, badly screwed "screw" could make his life difficult.

You are the "Master Mind" of this software is anything that can have happened bad in the creation of your software, you can fix it easily because you have the complete tutorial in your head.

I cannot serve as a "beta tester" and ask for help whenever I can not find the place to refer to my needs.

I would not like you to think that it is a question of patience which is my problem. I have more patience than it takes. Makes no mistake about it.

However, you come to a certain age that you cannot afford to waste time because of long research or lack of information about something.  I need to have as much autonomy as possible. Just like any newcomer who uses VisualNeo Web or any other software. I should be the first to understand why this or that situation happens.  Subsequently, if I cannot find a solution using the software, I will ask for help from the manufacturer.

It is like having a lot of grocery stores in a city and looking for a particular product. After passing several stores, you finally find it in the 6th store and you realize that it took you 2 hours to travel in the city to find it.

With a well-constructed information center for tourism, there is usually information for a particular country, province or city.

It is exactly like going to a good tutorial about the software used and finding good examples with explanations about each instruction. Just like finding information for each city in the country.

It's nice to know that this or that thing is available in a country, but how to get there is another thing.

Everyone can say that such is right or not, but no one has offered me a solution for my problem.

The problem is to see all the buttons disappear when I click on the user interface.  Why?

In addition, my problem was not with compiling the software as a web page. But rather as a standalone software.

The complex software that you showed me Luis was on a Host Server. So it was web software. My situation is "Standalone" software using NWJS. Because this is new, perhaps there has not been enough fact testing.  I'm happy you shown me your master piece.

So, it may well be that the problem probably did not occur in your situation. But in mine, it is another situation.

I will even add another thing, in addition to waiting for a fix, I will also wait for a better tutorial for VisualNeo Web before continuing to use it. This is my will.

Hi @rocote,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. A good tutorial series is one of my priorities regarding VisualNEO Web, but there are too many related knowledge (HTML, CSS, Javascript, BootStrap, AngularJS, JQuery, PWA, PhoneGap, NWjs...) that is almost impossible for me to include in the tutorials.
Since last version, VisualNEO Web offers the possibility to compile for NWjs, but I can't offer support for NWjs itself. Fortunately there is a lot information, tutorials and forums online as it's a very popular technology.
Anyway your problem seems to me quite strange and probably has a simple explanation, but it's imposible to say with the provided information. If you decide to abandone VisualNEO Web for now, I will miss you here in the forums :)
Take care.

I understand that you can think very big as a help system and I think that is why it is the second time that you have used the words "Impossible" in our messages.

I rather suggest something "simple" but effective.

If you watch the little video that I have prepared, it shows what could be done to help newcomers to VisualNeo Web.  I am also sure it could help advanced people.

In the code window, there are lots of instructions without having explanations what they mean and also, without having an example how to use them, where and why?

I believe that VisualNeo Web has enough possibilities to create good software for the moment, but not good enough to bring a new user to be autonomous and efficient.

An additional effort must be made for this little dictionary that I speak.  I think that efforts for a next update should be made for newcomers to the software instead of adding too much new for advanced people.  Adding the NWJS was a great idea, but I could never have used it if you hadn't been there Luis.

This is my point of view. If I'm wrong, it's ok too. You are the only one to make the decision because it is all yours.

Thanks Luis!

Perhaps it might help avoid such acrimony if PWA and NWjs were "officially declared as in Beta Testing phase" ... i.e. do not plan on making Live (for profit) applications deploying these flavours of VisualNEOWeb.

As far as technology deployment is concerned, my motto has always been "lag the leading edge" ... gets rid of 80% of my frustrations.
