Its Adobe Flash tools are not merely outdated, they will no longer be supported by the end of 2020. And if any new program encourages its users to create Flash output, it might be categorized as a form of malware.

Whoever created it and made it so fun and simple to use was a genius. I hope the next version has multi-language support and maybe a 64 bit version.

Hello,
For years, I have been working on multimedia applications. I started in DOS with command line software. Then with Neobook under DOS and currently under Neobook Win 5.8.7.I kept this software for its simplicity in conjunction with other tools, but I also used:
Director
Toolbook
Flying Popcorn
Formula Graphics
Multimedia Builder (Mediachance)
Opus
Browser Bob
GL Pro
and even more.Today, all this software has disappeared from the market and I had high hopes in the improvement of Neobook when it was taken over by VisualNEO and transformed into VisualNeo Win. The latter could have taken all the positive points of all of its competitors mentioned above.
My disappointment is great.
However, I must warmly thank all the plugin designers who make it evolve, in particular as3856 and Alberto Meyer.Looking forward to your new version.
Good luck to all.

Mi decepción es grande.
Sin embargo, debo agradecer calurosamente a todos los diseñadores de complementos que lo hacen evolucionar, en particular a as3856 y Alberto Meyer.Esperamos su nueva versión.
Buena suerte a todos.

A much more better than me Delphi developer has been studing the VisualNEO Win source code for some days. Unfortunately he has come to the same conclusions than me: the code is too old and too complex to understand. There are many different libraries and self-written components and almost no comments. It's not lack of interest or money. Probably the only realistic possibility is to start over a new project.
Sorry.

Quote from dglojnar on December 9, 2020, 10:46 pmThis is indeed very, very bad news....
What is options for future?
Is it options at all ?
How REAL is to re-write complete Neobook/VisualNEO - this is not a joke, very complex and demanding process, even for team of programmers...IMHO..)
Maybe, just maybe instead of writing new updates Luis and Co. can write a plug-in(s) to extend a Neobook/VisualNEO functionality and made some updates via plug-in(s) ?
Not elegant, but it's a at least real solution IMHO.
And I understand a focus on VisualNEO WEB - excellent product BTW, but, from my point of view, VisualNEO Win is my main and only develop tool and I really don't want to learn any new tools if I don't have to...
Maybe we can make some kind of discussion/poll about VisualNEO Win in the future ?
With best regards to all :-)

I really like VisualNeo Win, but the more I discover and use VisualNeo Web, the more I think it's a great tool, with a great future, that is worth learning to use. At the beginning it may seem disturbing compared to VisualNeo Win, but with time it becomes very pleasant! I encourage you to discover this wonderful tool!

Quote from dglojnar on December 10, 2020, 1:34 amHi!
I totally agree with you, but, for my job, VisualNEO Web is not suitable - I can resolve partial jobs, but only VisualNEO Web - not an option..
With Neobook/VisualNEO 99.95 % of my daily job (which is far from simple and easy) is done without any problems - using native Neobook/VisualNEO commands or using plug-ins.
So, I have to take a deep look in VisualNEO Web to see how can I solve every days jobs....and it's a time consuming process :-)

Quote from Vadim on December 10, 2020, 6:43 amFriends!
VisualNEO Win is a mature development environment, whose functionality can be developed for a long time by creating plug-ins. These are not just words. Please note that more than three dozen new plugins have been created in the last two years. I've counted - it's more than 1000 new commands! Not every programming environment can boast of this growth. So it's too early to get upset :)

I'm actually NOT upset at all, your point was good - we have enough plug-ins to cover all needs (pro or hobby) !
Thanks to Andrei (and other developers, of course) we have now a lot of new plug-ins which dramatically increase Neobook/VisualNEO Win functionality :-)

Quote from fkapnist on December 12, 2020, 12:40 amEvery time there was a major change to Windows, a new version of Neobook was released (I remember Windows 10 did not work with it at first). What's going to happen if Windows 11 comes out and VisualNEO Win is no longer compatible? To "start over a new project" and re-create NEO Win from scratch might turn out to be easier than it seems at first. Look at Lazarus and ThinBasic. Neobook has an extra layer of "ease of use" built in to it based on logic. It would not be so bad if old pubs were not readable in the latest version. That has already happened in the course of its long development.
What I don't like about NEO Web is that it seems to be mostly built around JavaScript and CSS, which is indeed powerful but does not allow you to access Windows system folders or files. Back in the early days of Netscape it did allow you to do so. You could access any local drive with the first versions of HTML and JS. They later changed the Internet rules (in favor of Google products). You are no doubt aware that the US government is now trying to break up Facebook because of its alleged anti-trust monopoly? If they do the same to Google (Alpha Beta Inc.) JavaScript once more might access local system files, who knows?

This is a security issue. Right now you can compile to NWjs to deal with it and in the near future, when Microsoft WebView2 will be released, there will be more (and lighter) available options.
As VisualNEO Web can use any web technology and they are evolving very quickly, the possibilities are growing every day.
