Free update for previous version VisualNEO Win users.
Software: VisualNEO Win
Version:21.6.24
I'm really happy to announce this new VisualNEO Win version.
This is a minor version update with some improvements:New Commands:
- FileRename. Rename an external file.
- PlayAction. Execute a script from a string variable or external text file.
New compile option:
Added compile feature with support of copying plugins to numbered DLL.
Using the Exe-Name with a Number the DLL looks more like windows standard apps.
So more friendly for Antivirus systems.
New embedding functionality:
In embedding you could'nt not only use relativ path now you can add a complete path with multiwildcard, which allows embedding thousands of files with a one-liner.
Other improvements and bug fixes:
- In command FileList without a Filepattern a *.* Pattern is used.
- Command FileList now supports Embedded Filesystem through Variablle [Embedded]
- In command FileList on embedded path you can use also a multi-wildcard now.
- When adding a file in or under PubDir the [PubDir] Variable is used. Allow relative path in embedding.
- Option for custom ExitCode from global VN-Variable [AppExitCode]
- Bugfix: Negativ Exitcodes in command 'Run' returned as big positiv Integers. Now you get -1 when -1 is send.

>Hans-Peter you could start loading all your plug-ins inside visualneo, as an integral part.
Why should I do this? ;-) Plugins are still a wonderfull way of improving the core system with things that are not needed by everyone. And the very powerfull plugin SDK allows a very close integration.
And I want to say 2 big thanks.
To Luis who trusted me and let me try to check the source. I was not sure to be able to get something usefull done.
And to Dave for his great work for neobook and his ongoing help to understand his great code base.
Years ago he teach me building plugins and even now he helped when I got stuck.
I do learn from the Pro by studying such big project. And still scratching only a very small part.
So much stuff on the wishlist. ;-(
Regards
Hans-Peter

Quote from rocote on June 27, 2021, 1:53 amwow!! This is wonderful news! Thanks for the update.
I'm just asking myself if we can expect a version of VisualNeo Win that will be able to compile the application into Mac format?
Like .app or .dmg compress file?
That would be awesome!!! But I still can use NW.EXE with VisualNeo Web.
It would be nice if the compile version will add automatically the nw.exe into the compile application for the Mac just like we do with VisualNeo Web.
Thanks again!

Hello,
Because of the fact that we are using an older compiler (Delph 7) with a bunch of aged libs, it is not possible to do this. Sorry.
VisualNeoWeb is the future, but VisualNeoWin has still big potential to get usfull addtions and extended lifetime.
And upcoming things like neoEdge makes new things possible. ;-)
My point of view.

I am still not entirely convinced that VisualNeoWeb is the future.
It's just another reality.
I still use VisualNeoWin a lot. It is not said that the solution to all problems must be with programs on the web, on the contrary I think that many problems (also certainly due to my ignorance) cannot be solved except with a real program.
However, I realize that it is not easy to pursue both solutions.

Quote from rocote on June 30, 2021, 1:43 amThank you Hans-Peter for your reply.
@LUIS had already mentioned the same details you mentioned. But I thought maybe there was hope on the horizon.
I understand and thank you for your explanation.
One thing is certain, everything in life is constantly changing. So the future can be startling.
Roger :)

So maybe we could say that it is one option in the future. ;-)
Therefor I tried to help to make our great tool even better.
I use it for inhouse tools where it does a great job in RAD-Produktion.
As long as MS will not change the WIN32 Api the apps will do the job.
