VMprotect

Hi all,

I'm trying to protect my project with VMprotect but all im getting is an error saying:

Unable to access resource data.

Disk read error! File may be damaged

Can anyone help?

We had the same problem with Armadillo in the old neobook days. The problem was solved by contacting the developers and giving them the link to a trial version of neobook. They made the appropriate changes and suggested the correct settings and it worked fine after that.

We had the same problem with a different protection software and the problem was solved by not compressing the resource data.

I unticked all upx compression but it still gives me the same error unfortunately

Is it trying to look for the resource file thats embedded into the exe? If so is there anyway on compiling it externally with the exe?

Is it possible your virus scanner is doing this in the background? Many of them will interfere and quarantine files that are created on windows computers . If you can disable fully or that specific feature when compiling it could help, check virus logs too.
