PiperTTS is a free, fully offline text-to-speech plugin for VisualNEO Win powered by the Piper neural TTS engine. It delivers natural-sounding speech without requiring any internet connection, cloud API keys, or subscription fees. The entire Piper engine is embedded inside a single .nbp plugin file and extracts automatically on first use just install and go. With access to 150+ voices spanning over 30 languages via the built-in Voice Manager, developers can browse, preview, download, and switch voices without ever leaving VisualNEO. Speech runs asynchronously in the background so your application stays fully responsive, and a 64-item queue system lets you line up multiple utterances that play back-to-back seamlessly.

Beyond basic speech, PiperTTS V2.0 includes a powerful FX Engine with 12 built-in presets — Robot, Deep Voice, Chipmunk, Whisper, Echo Hall, Radio, Megaphone, and more  plus full support for custom profiles with adjustable pitch shifting, echo, ring modulation, bass/treble EQ, and volume control. All effects are applied as real-time DSP post-processing with zero external dependencies. The plugin also supports multi-format audio export (WAV, AIFF, AU, RAW, MP3, OGG, FLAC), making it easy to generate audio files for use outside VisualNEO. With 19 total actions covering speech, voice management, queuing, effects, export, and configuration, PiperTTS gives developers complete control over every aspect of text-to-speech in their published applications.
